What do I need to do so that you can commence surveillance or investigations for me?
Before we start acting on your instructions, we need you to fill out a form which is a contract for service and covers you and us. Once signed, you must forward the form to us via email, fax or by post. We prefer you to use fax or email as it is faster. Surveillance & Investigations Specialists requires a retainer before we commence your instructions on any of our services which will be billed against the retainer.

How much will it cost?
Our rates are variable and are mostly based on an hourly rate. On saying that, they also depend on a number of factors such as what type of investigation, surveillance, tracing or process serving you need and the time we have to spend on it. We can assure you that our rates are extremely cost effective and we will provide you with an unbeatable service. We always aim to achieve customer satisfaction.
Please note that on surveillance and our other services whereby we are ‘on the road’, we charge for a minimum of 6 hours per day which includes travel time and mileage as long as we are in the Sunshine Coast area, otherwise travel time and mileage rates apply.

Can You Explain “We Get The Information You Need Or It’s Free”
Yes, we assess your instructions and implement a plan of action. The first phase is when we conduct discreet enquiries “on the ground” and via databases in which we will incur the cost of doing this! If there is no information available then you don’t pay us anything. This is unlike most other Private Investigators who will charge you a hefty fee no matter what; even if they don’t get the information for you. Alternatively, if we are able to get the information that you require, we will then debit your payment. Please note that we do need a retainer at the time of your instruction (which will be refunded if there is no information available) in order to prove that you are serious about wanting the information that you have requested. Later on, in the course of these initial enquiries, we will advise you on alternative methods that we can implement on your behalf which will increase the likelihood of a satisfactory conclusion for you.

How long is an investigation carried out for?
This depends on the type of investigation you want us to do. There is no foolproof way of calculating the time it will take. Some of our cases have taken an hour or two, but others have taken much longer. If you need to know then you need to keep an open mind and look at the bigger picture. We can discuss this with you during your FREE telephone consultation. That way, we will be able to establish a better idea about what your requirements are. Whether it’s covert surveillance using state of the art video equipment, tracing of debtors and all private eye investigations using our elite private detectives we can assure you that we will act on your behalf with experience and professionalism and get that vital evidence and information you need.

Can I pay by Credit Card?
Yes, no problem, we accept Visa, MasterCard, and Amex. However, having a "surveillance and investigation company" appearing on a credit card statement could potentially jeopardize the services that we are providing for you by notifying your partner that you have retained our services. With that in mind, you will be billed from “Martin Day Publications” not Surveillance & Investigations Specialists.

What other types of payment do you accept?
Cash, money-order, bank cheque, wire-transfers, electronic funds transfer, credit cards, or business/personal cheques. Just be aware that if paying by business or personal cheque, we will not be able to start your instructions until the cheques clear the bank. If paying via a wire-transfer there will be a service charge of $20.

Do I have to pay a retainer?
Yes, a retainer fee is required on all cases and all charges will be billed against the retainer. A retainer is a portion of what the estimated total of the surveillance, investigation or other service will be. Upon completion of the investigation we will let you know what the outstanding balance is. All investigative results will then be released to you upon receipt of your final payment.

Do you hold a license and are you insured?
Yes we are.

I think a staff member is taking stock from my shop, how can you help?
There are a number of ways that we can investigate the situation for you. We can instruct one of our male or female operatives to go under cover as an employee to act as a secret test shopper or install covert surveillance systems.

I'm getting a divorce and need to know all of my partner's assets, can you help?
Yes, we are able to help you using varying methods that result in revealing the information that you need including factual investigations and surveillance. We will help to uncover financial evidence or other hidden assets like property acquisitions so that you do not miss out on the money that you may be entitled to. You may be able to negotiate a percentage at the time of settlement with this information that you now know about.

Do the courts recognize the information and video evidence that you have obtained?
Yes, our surveillance and investigative services including video evidence and detailed reports that are time and dated are legally admissible in a court of law; the courts recognize us as licensed private investigators and we are classed as a neutral party. We can also be called to testify as an expert witness and can swear an Affidavit and statements if required.

What do you provide me with at the conclusion of my instructions?
We provide a detailed report along with any video/audio tapes, photographs, diagrams, and any other documents that might apply to the case. A telephone briefing would be conducted depending on your contact situation.

What type of services don’t you provide?
As a professional surveillance and investigation company, we do not break the law and we do not want you to get into trouble either!
We do not provide you with an individual's Social Security Number, although we do provide Social Security Verification for pre-employment background checks. We can also provide Social Security numbers to your solicitor for court purposes only.
We do not provide Credit reports unless there is a judgment issued.
